The aim of the Joint Brazilian-Swedish Research Collaboration Programme is to increase the competitiveness of universities and other higher education institutions by developing and establishing international partnerships. The programme supports projects of high scientific quality which are clearly contributing to the activities of participating educational establishments.

CISB and CNPq made an agreement based on the Brazilian "Science Without Borders" program. As a result, SAAB will arrange at least 100 opportunities of Scholarships for Brazilians in the next 3 years.

On May 17th, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrick Reinfeldt met São Paulo State Governor, Geraldo Alckmin. The meeting's main purpose was to bring upon discussions on matters of mutual interest, such as science, technology, innovation, environment and sustainable development.
