Akaer wins the National Innovation Award

Akaer won the National Innovation Award, 2018/2019 edition, in the “Product Innovation” and “Organizational Innovation” category, in the Medium Enterprise modality. The Award is an Entrepreneurial Mobilization for Innovation (MEI, Mobilização Empresarial pela Inovação) initiative, carried out by the National Industry Confederation (CNI, Confederação Nacional da Indústria) and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBRAE, Serviço Brasileiro de Apoio às Micro e Pequenas Empresas).

The ceremony was held on June 10th, during the 8th Brazilian Industry Innovation Summit. In addition to the conquer, the company was also finalist in 4 of the 5 categories of the 2018/2019 edition, and received two honourable mentions for “Innovation in Processes” and “Innovation Management”.

The “Product Innovation” category evaluates the introduction of new or significantly improved goods or services in terms of the intended characteristics or uses that have provided positive impacts to the business. The “Organizational Innovation” category evaluates the implementation of new or significantly improved organizational methods, including business practices, workplace organization or external relations that have a positive impact on the business.

Finally, “Innovation in Processes” deals with the implementation of new or significantly improved production methods and/or distribution methods that have a positive impact on the business. The “Innovation Management” category recognizes organizations that produce a profitable environment for the generation of innovations through the implementation of processes, methods, techniques and innovation and management tools.

The methodology adopted by the National Innovation Award follows international standards and includes four stages: self-validation; virtual validation; technical visit; and selection. The award’s objective is to encourage and recognize the successful innovation efforts and innovation management in the organizations that operate in Brazil.
