The workshop aims to show the properties and possible applications of graphene, carbon nanotubes and other related materials in many different fields and connect Swedish and Brazilian researchers looking for collaboration in the nanocomposite field.

MackGraphe is the Graphene and Nanomaterials Research Center at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, whose mission is to investigate properties of these materials with an applied engineering thinking, expecting strong collaboration with industries to develop technologies that meet the society needs. During the study visit, the participants will attend lectures, visit the laboratories and make progress in the collaboration.

The Lightweight Structures Laboratory (LEL) was founded by Institute for Technological Research of the State of São Paulo (IPT) in order to create an integrated facility for research, and fulfil the demand of industries in Brazil and abroad in this area. During the study visit, IPT-LEL will present its innovation capabilities and ongoing projects in different fields. The participants will visit the laboratories related to different structures (metallic, composite and hybrid) and discuss potential collaborations in a final round table.

The WIEFP is a Swedish-Brazilian initiative started in 2012. It is a successful meeting between industry and academy in the field of fluid power, mechatronics and control systems. The aim is to promote collaboration in development of technologies, education, innovation management, and methods and tools for hydraulic and pneumatic system development and design.
