CISB, CNPq and Saab AB are again closing an exchange agreement for researchers focused on the aeronautics sector.
In the beginning of March, CISB, CNPq (Brazilian government research incentive agency) and Saab (Swedish aerospace company) signed another cooperation agreement that provides for the exchange of researchers. The action is a new chapter in the history of more than six years between the three entities, which has already resulted in dozens of successful projects mainly in the aeronautical segment.
The new agreement, which runs until 2023, provides for the grant of scholarships for one-year sandwich doctorate and postdoctoral programmes.
“When we started this partnership in 2012, we had to go to the universities to tell students and teachers about the programme. Sweden was barely considered as an exchange option within the academic world”, says Alessandra Holmo, Managing Director of CISB.
Over the years, the partnership has consolidated. This fact is evident from the substantial number of research groups already connected. “With the research network established, there was a significant increase in the quantity and in the quality of the project proposals submitted. Currently we have a great challenge regarding the projects to be selected, as well as the impact on R&D&I cooperation between the two countries”, says Alessandra.
On the Swedish side, the mood is also optimistic. Magnus Ahlström, Vice President of Saab, praises the excellence of both countries within the aeronautical engineering sector. “By cooperating with each other, we can share costs, intelligent people and find synergies between countries and between commercial and military aviation sectors, as well as solutions for diverse industries such as vehicles, mining, manufactured equipment, among others” says.
